Our Philosophy - From Research to Passion
What began as artistic research for the original Dancing Tree musical became a lifelong passion. Since discovering Argentine tango in Buenos Aires in 2013, founder June Wang has studied extensively with many of Argentina's most respected maestros while immersing herself in the culture and traditions of tango. Through tango, she discovered far more than dance steps. She found a living culture, a community, and a way of understanding connection, creativity, and everyday life.
Our Approach - From Embrace to Conversation
At Dancing Tree Studio, tango is taught not as a sequence of steps, but as a conversation. Everything begins with the embrace and the walk. From these foundations, students develop balance, musicality, communication, body awareness, and improvisation. Rather than memorizing patterns, they learn to listen, respond, and create together. Our goal is not simply to teach tango—it is to share its spirit.
